The work was first shown at the Artist Meeting in Knokke, together with ‘Climate Scales Netherlands’.
Both works of art contain the climate table with the average annual temperature from 1901. The data comes from the KNMI and the KMI in Belgium. I added a prediction up to and including 2035.
Part of the installation is the question to visitors whether they want to predict what the average annual temperature will be in 2035. In Knokke this generated a lot of interest and predictions. In the Netherlands the interest was lower.
The same question is linked to Art Brussels and the exhibition at the Haagse Kunstkring (October 2025).
At the Art Brussels art fair, the installation can be seen in the stand of Gabriel Fine arts. The photo on the poster is part of Climate scales Belgium. I will be present at the Gabriel Fine Arts stand to answer questions about this work and other works.
This fair is the third opportunity to give a prediction about the average annual temperature in the Netherlands and Belgium in 2035. I will put the predictions in the time capsule that will only be opened when the annual temperature for 2035 is known. Then the winners of a work of art from the series “Hot Holland top 20 mini” will also be announced. The previous exhibitions were Artist Meeting in Knokke and EuropArtFair in Amsterdam.
